THE RESULTS OF LAPAROSCOPIC SACRAL COLPOPEXY FOR TREATMENT OF SEVERE PELVIC ORGANS PROLAPSE AT XUYEN A HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Pelvic organs prolapse is very popular in old women and causes bad quality of life. Surgical treatment is indicated in severe cases. Objectives: To evaluate the feasibility, the efficacy and the safety of the laparoscopic sacral colpopexy for treatment of severe genital prolapses in women at Xuyen A hospital. Materials and methods: This was a descriptive case series study. Patients with severe genital prolapses (grade III– IV) were chosen. The procedures were transperitoneal laparoscopy from Sept 2015 to Nov 2020. Results: 79 prolapses of uterine (39 grade III and 40 grade IV) and 2 prolapses of vaginal cuff (grade III). The patients’ mean age was 65.8 ± 14.2. The mean operative time was 174.6 ± 65.4 minutes. The mean blood loss was 56.6 ± 32.9 ml. The mean hospitalization time was 13.9 ± 10.2 days. We have just followed up 74 patients. With the mean follow-up of 11.3 ± 5.8 month. The success rate 97.3%, the anatomic results were satisfactory without recurrence in 76 patients (93.8%). Conclusion: Sacral colpopexy by laparoscopy is feasible, safe and efficacious for treatment of severe genital prolapses in female.
