Abstract

Background: Viet Nam is one of the countries with a high abortion rate in the region and in the world, especially in the adolescent age group, studies in Vietnam have shown that the youth's knowledge of contraceptions is still not high. Tra Vinh University is a school with many different students, with the desire to improve the education of reproductive health awareness and behavior for medical students, so this study was carried out. Objectives: The study is to identify the prevalence of students from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Tra Vinh University with the correct knowledge about oral contraception, emergency contraception, condoms and related factors. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional survey of 806 subjects, conducted from December 2019 to March 2020. Results: The results showed that the rate of students from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Tra Vinh University with the correct knowledge about oral contraception, emergency contraception, condoms is 16.5%, it depends on related factors. Conclusion: The correct knowledge about oral contraception, emergency contraception, condoms was related to age, gender, school year, major, hometown and living with whom (p<0.05).
