FACTORS AFFECTING THE DECISION OF STUDENTS IN ENROLLING AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE MEDICINE

Abstract
Background: In the current trend of enrollment competition, for universities in general, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in particular, to attract candidates to training institutions, in addition to promoting brands, improving prestige, quality of teaching, facilities, it is also essential to find out which factors affect the decision to choose a school. Objectives: To determine and to evaluate the impact of factors affecting the decision to enroll at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy of full-time freshman students. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive studies in 500 students admitted to Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the academic year 2019-2020, including 8 majors: General medicine; Preventive medicine; Traditional medicine; Pharmacy; Nursing; dental doctor; Medical testing techniques; Community health. Data collected by survey questionnaire and statistically processed by SPSS 20.0 software. Results: 4/42 observed variables were rejected when determining the reliability of the scale Cronbach's Alpha; After analyzing the exploratory factor, 27/38 remaining items were selected for multiple regression analysis and the study results recorded 13 observed variables belonging to 3 factors, including: (1) personal score; (2) The reputation of the school and (3) Tuition fees had a positive influence on the student's choice of school. Conclusions: The research results have identified the influencing factors, thereby serving as a basis for proposing measures to attract learners, helping the enrollment to be effective, ensuring training and contributing to stability, determine the career revenue of the school.
