Abstract

Background: Acne vulgaris is a very common disease, accounting for 80-85% in adults. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a multicolored light, emitting pulses with length 420-1,200nm. Its mechanism of action is selective photothermal lysis, which is suitable for destroying target tissue without affecting the surrounding. This method is widely used in the treatment of acne vulgaris with outstanding advantages such as no damage, no bleeding, no pain for the patient, easy to implement and inexpensive. Objects: Assessment of results of acne vulgaris treatment using IPL in combination with blue light and topical application of FOB-10 Lotion at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in 2019-2020. Materials and method: All patients who were diagnosed with acne vulgaris at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from April 2019 to July 2020. Cross-sectional descriptive studies. Results: After 8 weeks of treatment, the response rates of good, fair and ordinary in our study were respectively: 43.75% - 44.27% - 11.88%; in no cases the response was poor. The treatment success rate is 88.02%. Conclusion: The success rate of acne vulgaris treatment using IPL in combination with blue light and topical applycation of FOB-10 Lotion is 88.02%.
