THE EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY OF INTRA ARTICULAR ACID HYALURONIC FOR THE KNEE OSTEOARTHISTIS TREATMENT

Abstract

Backgroud: The effectiveness of the treatment for knee osteoarthritis is not good. Objectives: To evaluate and safety of intra articular acid hyaluronic for the knee osteoarthitis treatment. Materials and methods: The randomized controlled trial for 60 patients with knee osteoarthritis. Results: Each week during the 4-week treatment, WOMAC scores changed 52.65%, pain reduced 49.72%, stiffness decreased 71.56%, function improved 50.8%. Each week during the 8-week treatment, WOMAC scores changed 81.37%, pain reduced 82.76%, stiffness decreased 88%, function improved 79.9%. Each week during the 12-week treatment, WOMAC scores changed 83.9%, pain reduced 90.74%, stiffness decreased 92.5%, function improved 85.2%. There was no risk of side effects. Conclusion: Intra articular acid hyaluronic for the knee osteoarthitis treatment is effective and safe.
