STUDY ON CLINICAL FEATURES AND RELATED FACTORS IN PSORIASIS PATIENTS IN CAN THO HOSPITAL OF DERMATO – VENEREOLOGY FROM 2018 TO 2020

Abstract
Background: Psoriasis is a common, chronic, immune-mediated skin disease with systemic pro-inflammatory activation. There are many factors that contribute to psoriasis’s pathogenesis, which is both environmental and genetic factors. Objectives: To describe clinical features and related factors in psoriasis patients in Can Tho Hospital of Dermato – Venereology from 3/2018 to 5/2020. Materials and methods: Descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study with 143 patients in Can Tho Hospital of Dermato – Venereology from 2018 to 2020. Results: In our study, the mean of year old was 45.2±17.3. The group of 41-50 years old had the biggest rate. Most of patients were men, accounting for 60.1%. The number of patients with BMI in the normal range accounted for the highest proportion (73.4%), the lowest in the underweight range (7.7%) and the mean of 21.64±2.05. The number of patients with onset of age in group 20-40 accounted for the highest proportion (50.3%), mean age of onset was 36.03±13.48. The number of patients with disease time in group 1-5 years accounts for the highest proportion (35.7%), followed by the group over 10 years accounting for 32.2%, the lowest in the 5-10 years group, accounting for 15.4%. The position of onset at the scalp accounts for the highest proportion (67.1%). The majority of patients participating in the study have plaque psoriasis accounting for 76.9%. Symptoms of itching accounted for the highest proportion (89.5%). PASI at moderate level accounted for the highest percentage (69.2%), severe 21.7% and mean was 15.8± 4.4. Related factors: genetic factors 2.1%, never smoker 60.8%, current smoker 23.1% and former smoker 16.1%, drinking alcohol or beer 46.9%, injury psychology accounted for 35.7%, the lowest rate was ear, nose and throat infection with 12.6%. Conclusion: Lesions start mainly on the scalp. Itching is the most common physical symptom. Moderate PASI has the biggest rate.
