SOME RISK FACTORS OF CARDIOVASCULAR-METABOLISM AND EVALUATION OF TREATMENT RESULTS WITH EMPAGLIFLOZIN COMBINED METFORMIN IN TYPE 2 DIABETES WITH OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY

Abstract
Background: Type 2 diabetes is a multifactorial disease both in risk, pathogenesis, complications, and treatment, greatly affecting the quality of life as well as the economic burden on the society. Objectives: To survey of some cardiovascular - metabolic risk factors and to evaluate of treatment results with Empagliflozin combined Metformin in type 2 diabetes with overweight and obesity. Materials and methods: The study followed up on 40 patients with type 2 diabetes who were overweight and obese. obese. The data is analyzed by SPSS 18.0. Results: Risk factors: Blood pressure increased 50%; fasting plasma glucose concentration didn’t reach 67.5%; belly fat was 90%; obesity level I was 57.5% and obesity level II was 5%; ≥60 years old was 20%; Smoking was 20% and not exercising was 32.5%. After 3 months of treatment, blood pressure, glucose, HbA1-c changed with statistical significance, p<0.05. Conclusion: Empagliflozin in combination with Metformin in type 2 diabetes patients with overweight and obesity helps to control fasting plasma glucose concentration, HbA1-c and blood pressure.
