DETERMINING THE RATE OF CRITERIA MET AND NOT MET GOOD PRACTICE STANDARDS FOR DRUG STORAGE AT SOME MILITARY MEDICAL STORAGE FACILITIES

Abstract
Background: In the pharmaceutical supply chain, storage plays a crucial role in ensuring that drugs maintain their quality, stability, and efficacy until they reach the end user. Adherence to Good Storage Practices (GSP) is mandatory for all drug manufacturing, trading, and distribution facilities. Objectives: To determine the percentage of criteria met and not met in the Good Storage Practice (GSP) standards at several military medical depots, and survey depot staff's knowledge of GSP. Materials and methods: Records, equipment; Pharmacists who are officers and staff working at military medical depots were surveyed using a retrospective cross-sectional descriptive method. Data was collected using survey questionnaires and pre-prepared question sets. Results: At the time of the survey, Warehouse K1 had the highest percentage of criteria met (81.1%), while Warehouse K2 had the lowest percentage (64.1%). The unmet criteria were concentrated in the areas of infrastructure, equipment, and storage operations. The total number of employees meeting the required knowledge was 74.1%, with Warehouse K1 achieving a rate of 80.5%. Conclusion: The basic warehouses have implemented and carried out the regulations on good drug storage practices relatively fully. Drugs are stored under conditions that ensure quality maintenance in accordance with regulations. However, quality in some criteria is not high enough. A specific plan for improvement is needed. Regular or unscheduled inspections of warehouse operations should be conducted according to the principles of "Good Drug Storage Practices".
