Abstract

Background: At pharmacies- drugstores, good storage practices are special and suitable measures for storage and delivery of materials and products from production, conservation, storage, delivery and distribution to ensure the drug attain intended quality when reaching consumers.Objectives: 1). To determine the achievement  rate of pharmacies - drugstores in the content of  drug storage based on the "Good Storage Practice" (GSP) standards and the “Good Pharmacy Practice” (GPP) standards in Ca Mau province; 2). To find out some related factors to the implementation of the contents of drug storage at pharmacies – drugstores. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study on 302 Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards pharmacies - drugstores in Ca Mau from June 2020 to June 2021. Results: In 302 pharmacies - drugstores, the qualifications of Store keepers: bachelor^/s degree (1%), associate^/s diploma (4.6%), intermediate diploma (88.4%) and primary diploma (6%). Pharmacies - drugstores that met the contents of drug storage based on the GSP and GPP standards according to 32 criteria below 80% is 40.1%; from 80% or more was 59.9%. There was a relationship between professional qualifications, area for storing drugs and temperature-humidity with the implementation of contents of drug storage (p<0.05). Conclusion: Drug’s storage of pharmacies-drugstores in Ca Mau province met the general GSP standards. However, there are still some criteria and the maintenance of the GSP standards implementation, in which the professional qualifications, the area for storing drugs and the temperature - humidity of the pharmacies – the drugstores still need further improvement.
