PARACLINICAL AND OUTCOME OF MACROSOMIA AT CAN THO CENTRAL GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Background: During pregnancy, fetal weight is always a top concern of physicians and pregnant women. Fetal weight is also an important factor for physicians to consider choosing the wrong way to give birth to prevent complications of the mother and baby after birth. Objectives: To understand some subclinical features and evaluating the outcome of macrosomia in Can Tho Central General Hospital. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted 322 the women in prenancy from 37 weeks or more at Can Tho Central General Hospital. Results: There were 322 pregnant women with size ≥ 3500g participating in the study. Subclinical features and major pregnancy outcome included biparietal diameter, femur length, abdominal circumference, hemoglobin and glucose, first-minute Apgar, maternal and fetal complications. Conclusion: Fetal macrosomia tends to increase, controlling fetal macrosomia will control complications for mother and baby after birth.
